Why optimize?
Optimization can prepare a smaller copy for upload or sharing. It is separate from PDF Split, which separates documents, and classification, which extracts information and organizes files.
Choose files and settings
- Select the files you want to optimize and review the supported options.
- Choose the available quality or size settings for that file type.
- Compare original and optimized size before using the result.
Check readability
Inspect small text, numbers, stamps, and signatures in the preview. Stronger size reduction can remove detail that matters for reading or extraction.
Use the selected result
Use the action provided to return the optimized selection to your workflow. Check which version is selected before starting upload. Optimizing a local selection does not by itself establish that an existing stored document was replaced.
If the result is unsuitable
Try a less aggressive setting or retain the original. If the output remains over the upload limit, review the limit and other available workflows rather than repeatedly uploading it.
Configure, preview, and select
- Open optimization settings before starting if you need to change the available PDF mode or quality controls.
- Optimize creates a proposed result. Preview lets you inspect it before choosing it.
- Select the optimized files to return them to the calling workflow; this is separate from starting classification.
- If the result is still too large, use the offered adjustment path and optimize again.
- Use Back to reconsider a result where offered, rather than accepting unreadable output.
