How does Email Activity work?

Select documents, compose messages, and track manual sending.

Start with your files

  • Open Documents and select the files you want to share.
  • Choose Send email to open the composer with your selected attachments.
  • Choose a connected sender account, then enter the recipient, subject, and message.
  • Review the attachments and recipient. Choose Send to send the email, or Save draft to finish later.
  • Open Email Activity to find your draft or check the sending status.

Choose who sends the email

Manual document emails need one of your connected Gmail, Outlook, or SMTP accounts. Manage these under Email senders on the Automated Sending page. The sender is your sending account; the recipient is the person receiving your documents. Connecting an account and sending an email are separate steps. Review your chosen account before sending.

Understand the tabs

  • Drafts: saved emails you have not sent. Open a draft from its actions menu to edit, save again, or send it.
  • Queued: emails waiting to send or currently being processed.
  • Sent: the send operation completed successfully. This does not confirm that the recipient read the email.
  • Failed: sending did not complete. Read the error shown on the email to understand what needs attention.

Review and manage your drafts

Each entry shows the subject, recipient, attachment count, and date. Sender details appear when available. Use a draft’s actions menu to open or delete it. Deleting a draft removes the saved email; it does not send it.

If sending fails

Read the displayed error first. If it concerns the sender connection, review that account under Email senders and reconnect it when required. This page does not currently offer a retry action for failed emails. Check the existing status before composing another email to avoid sending the same files twice.

Which emails appear here?

  • Email Activity: manually composed document emails and their drafts.
  • Automated Sending: scheduled or instant folder-based automations and their delivery history.
  • Email Forwarding: incoming emails and attachments sent into your workspace.

Reopen an existing draft

  • Open the draft’s actions menu and choose Open. The composer restores the saved recipient, subject, message, file references, and available sender.
  • Check the sender again if its previous connection is no longer available.
  • Save draft keeps it for later. Send submits a sending job; check the activity status afterward.
  • Delete in a draft’s menu removes the saved draft, not its source documents.
