How do usage and billing work?

Understand allowances, periods, and subscription controls.

Read the current plan

The plan summary shows your workspace subscription. Available actions depend on your role and billing provider.

Different limits measure different things

  • Documents: classification allowance shown for the current usage period.
  • Splits: the separate PDF Split allowance.
  • Sending automations: the number of rules allowed.
  • Team seats: workspace capacity for teammates.
  • Files per scan: the maximum batch size.
  • File size: the maximum size of an individual file.

Usage period and billing period

Read both date ranges on the page. Do not assume that today’s activity, this month’s uploads, and the subscription billing period measure the same interval.

When you reach a limit

  • Check which allowance is exhausted. Removing a visible history item does not establish that an allowance has been restored.
  • Use the plan comparison to check capacity before upgrading.
  • For period-based allowances, refer to the displayed period rather than estimating a reset date.

Manage or cancel billing

Use Manage billing or Manage subscription to open the available billing flow. Read its effective dates and confirmation before changing or canceling a subscription. Closing a guide does not change billing.

Attention counts

Pending, failed, and delivered email counts summarize delivery activity. Open the relevant email workflow to investigate; they are not extra document quota units.

Mobile-managed subscriptions and canceled plans

  • If the page identifies a mobile-managed subscription, follow its billing-provider instructions rather than assuming web billing controls apply.
  • A canceled paid subscription can show the date its paid access expires. Read that date rather than assuming cancellation always removes access immediately.
  • While a billing action is pending, wait for its result before repeating it.
